Future Budget

From one of my recent posts I said that our class is doing a fake money system. This week our task is to create our future budget. We have to find cars and houses and jobs and everything we will need/want in our future. We also need to research how much a warrant and car registration costs for our car, also our tax and all the Money that we have to pay to the government. Another thing we had to research was what we will study in university and our net worth for when we're older. These won't be our actual futures because somethings might change but this is what we're thinking of right now.

Here's my presentation and Budget on my Future:

BATTLE SHIPS!!

This week for strand we were learning about coordinates. Coordinates help you find the exact spot. What we had to do was guess the coordinates of where our buddy hid their boats. The way you say the coordinates where you want to go is that you go along the corridor first then up the stairs.
What is the coordinate of the grid below?

Here is my grid. I was buddies with Chloe.

A Letter to the Animal Trust

This week in strand we have been doing more measurements. We were put in groups to try and figure out measurements for the Animal Trust's plans and display them to the group. In my group I had SophieLani, and Daniel P. Each task had 2 groups working on it. Here are all the tasks.

Our group did the first task (the garden one).
Here are the completed tasks in my book.

We decided to display our work through a fake letter to the Animal Trust.

Top Cat's Equivalent Fractions

In Maths Stage 6, this and last term we have been focusing on learning about fractions. Our focus last week was Equivalent Fractions (different fractions that mean the same).
This HERE is an activity we had to do.
Image result for arrow pointing down

In this activity we had to colour in a box that is equivalent to the one that is inline with that collum in the bottom row. I found this activity easy because I love fractions and hard because I couldn't tell which number was which because of the font.

TRANSFORMATION and TESSELLATIONS

For the past few weeks in EL4 Strand we have been learning about Transformation (Rotate, Translate, and Reflect). After we learnt about Transformations we then extended it into Tessellations (locking shapes together to create a picture with NO gaps, and NOT overlapping). I found the rotation and the coloring in hard. What helped me to make it easier was to do everything in pencil and then draw over it in pen.

Here is my TRANSFORMATION artwork.

Here is a Slide Show about Tessellations.

And here is my TESSELLATION artwork.

Times Tables

For the past few weeks instead of typing club we have been going on this really good website called timestables.co.nz. I finished all my times tables from 1-12 diplomas and activities.
Here is my trophy cabinet.
