7 Wonders of the World

Last week we had a huge task. We had to plan a holiday around the world visiting the 7 wonders of the world.

The 7 wonders of the world are the Great wall of china, Petra, Taj Mahal, Christ the Redeemer, Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza, and the Colosseum.

I was partners with Tegan. We had to research all the flights, Accommodation, Rental Cars, Food, Petrol, and we had to do an extra activity at each place. We had a budget of $45,000, and had to be away between 30-50 days in May-July.

Here is our Presentation:

Overfishing

For our writing task this week we had to research an environmental issue and show what it is and how we can prevent it. I did mine on overfishing. It's scary to think that all the fish in the sea will be gone.
Here is my presentation:

Budgets

For Term 4 our class is focusing on money and going through the process of having to pay bills and pay for the stuff we use, using banqer. Banqer is an online fake money system, everyday we come to school we get $5 but if we are sick and we email our teacher or contact the office we still get $5. If we check in before 8:35 then we get $10. Each task we complete we get $10-$30. Each week we have to pay $75 for wifi and if we want to sit on the furniture we have to pay a certain amount of money. Here is our slide that has all the information.

This week's reading task was about Budgets. We had to research what a budget is and then create our own Budget using google sheets. We had to put together all the tasks and all the things we wanted to buy and see what our budget would be after that. Here is mine.

LH1 logo

Last week bella and I made a logo for the class in manaiakalani. Everyone who made one had to have a symbol behind it. Ours symbolises that us kids are the boats lost at sea and the two lighthouses are the two teachers leading us the way. We used google drawings and luna picc to create this.

Animation

It's so sad how the amazon Rainforest is burning. Did you know that The Amazon has an incredibly rich ecosystem – there are around 40,000 plant species1,300 bird species3,000 types of fish430 mammals and a whopping 2.5 million different insects. Losing the Amazon Rainforest would cause serious damage to the earth and us humans.

How to Turn Your Brightness up

This Term a new workshop has started, it's called 'Koka Pip's Tech group'. I am one of the lucky kids that got chosen to be in the group. Our main focus is to try and help the elderly learn how to use their device and  and stay safe online.
Here are our activity slides.

Here is a poster we made for them.

On the first slide of the Activities there was a quote, that quote told us that the elderly will probably forget about the posters because it will just be all boring words. So Koka Pip told us to make a video on how to do something simple on your device. I was buddy's with Hana and here is our Video we made using Powtoon.

How do I Make a Quality Blog Post

Last week with Koka Maria, she told us to make a video on HOW to make a Quality Blog Post. The video above shows you my 3 steps on how to make a Quality Blog Post. This picture below is our class brainstorming page.

Blog Post Review

On Thursday instead of doing Blogging the teachers told us to make a Blog Post Review for our Blogging Buddy. My buddy is Seve, and here are the scores I gave him for 'The Experiment'.

FOOOOD

Each week our collaborative classes split up after lunch on a Tuesday and Wednesday. One of the classes does fitness and the other class does either Chapter Chat or Priorities. Our class (Moana Rua) does fitness on Tuesday and Chapter Chat or Priorities on Wednesday. Last week we were learning about the best foods to eat. We had to make a presentation on the food that we chose. I was partners with Kyra and we chose to do the food CHILLI PEPPERS!

Charlie, Chilli
(Chilli's my nickname)

TRANSFORMATION and TESSELLATIONS

For the past few weeks in EL4 Strand we have been learning about Transformation (Rotate, Translate, and Reflect). After we learnt about Transformations we then extended it into Tessellations (locking shapes together to create a picture with NO gaps, and NOT overlapping). I found the rotation and the coloring in hard. What helped me to make it easier was to do everything in pencil and then draw over it in pen.

Here is my TRANSFORMATION artwork.

Here is a Slide Show about Tessellations.

And here is my TESSELLATION artwork.

Out of the Blue DLO

Hello, in week 1 of Term 2 our deputy principal, Koka Rachel, gave us a challenge to make a DLO on something we have learned this year. I chose to do it on most of the stuff that we learnt in Term 1. Try to get all the Questions from 1-10 correct, and remember to click the grey and white arrow.
