Prior Knowledge

For one of our writing tasks this week we got to choose 2 topics and research about them. These topics were all based on the ocean. The 2 topics I completed were the Benthic zone and Bioluminescence.

7 Wonders of the World

Last week we had a huge task. We had to plan a holiday around the world visiting the 7 wonders of the world.

The 7 wonders of the world are the Great wall of china, Petra, Taj Mahal, Christ the Redeemer, Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza, and the Colosseum.

I was partners with Tegan. We had to research all the flights, Accommodation, Rental Cars, Food, Petrol, and we had to do an extra activity at each place. We had a budget of $45,000, and had to be away between 30-50 days in May-July.

Budgets

For Term 4 our class is focusing on money and going through the process of having to pay bills and pay for the stuff we use, using banqer. Banqer is an online fake money system, everyday we come to school we get $5 but if we are sick and we email our teacher or contact the office we still get $5. If we check in before 8:35 then we get $10. Each task we complete we get $10-$30. Each week we have to pay $75 for wifi and if we want to sit on the furniture we have to pay a certain amount of money. Here is our slide that has all the information.

This week's reading task was about Budgets. We had to research what a budget is and then create our own Budget using google sheets. We had to put together all the tasks and all the things we wanted to buy and see what our budget would be after that. Here is mine.

It's so sad how the amazon Rainforest is burning. Did you know that The Amazon has an incredibly rich ecosystem – there are around 40,000 plant species, 1,300 bird species, 3,000 types of fish, 430 mammals and a whopping 2.5 million different insects. Losing the Amazon Rainforest would cause serious damage to the earth and us humans. 

What Learning has Stood out for me This Week?

I have really enjoyed the PE we have been doing this week. We have been focusing on Invading. We played a game called Robb the nest/IT tag/Magic potion, you get split into two teams and your team each has a hoop with 3 tennis balls in it. The aim of the game is to have all 6 balls in your teams hoop, you can get people out by tagging them below the knees and if you get out then everyone you tagged can stand back up and start playing again.

Something that I think I could improve on is getting all my things done and not getting distracted as much.

Diving Deep in December

This week is the last week of the year (my last week ever at this school). For this week we are doing Something called "Diving Deep in December". Diving Deep in December is about helping the people in Poverty, and making their Christmas a wonderful one.

CULTURE CLUB

This Term our focus is the ARTS. For this our Hub did this thing called Culture Club. Culture Club is a thing where we investigate a country and then present it somehow. I was buddy's with May and here is our video:

BATTLE SHIPS!!

This week for strand we were learning about coordinates. Coordinates help you find the exact spot. What we had to do was guess the coordinates of where our buddy hid their boats. The way you say the coordinates where you want to go is that you go along the corridor first then up the stairs.

Blog Post Review

On Thursday instead of doing Blogging the teachers told us to make a Blog Post Review for our Blogging Buddy. My buddy is Seve, and here are the scores I gave him for 'The Experiment'.

This week when Koka Maria came into class she showed us the Quality Blog post Rubric. She then said that we had to buddy up with someone and edit & improve one of our blog posts using the Quality Blog Post Rubric. I buddied up with Karma.
