Kapa Haka!
On Wednesday last week we finally performed our Kapa Haka! I learnt a lot of new songs during our Kapa Haka practices such as Purea Nei, He Honore, and E Minaka Ana. In the practices, at the start we learnt lots of songs then once we learnt them all, the teachers created our bracket 'Tu Mai Ra (our School waiata), Tehai, Purea Nei (poi), E Minaka Ana, Haka, and He Honore', then in the rest of the practices we started practicing it over and over again. We finally went to the AMP show grounds and performed our bracket at 12:45.

Cafe DAY!!
On Thursday last week we finally had our CAFE DAY!!
Cafe day was about inviting our elders to come and have a drink some food and entertainment for the morning. I was working in the kitchen as a caterer. It was HARD 😔😒! There was about 27 people and each elderly person had 2 students looking after them and asking them if they would like anything. I really enjoyed seeing the smiles on all their faces and loved all the effort we put into it.😀💗

SPCA Drop off
On one of my previous blog posts called 'SPCA House 1 & 2 Complete' I said that we had the task of making Beds, Rags, and Blankets for the SPCA!
At the end of last term my mum came in and took us to the SPCA out in the country by the Jolly Stockman and we DELIVERED OUR HOUSES!!
We meet these really cute and lovely animals.
The dog above is called Albie!

BATTLE SHIPS!!
This week for strand we were learning about coordinates. Coordinates help you find the exact spot. What we had to do was guess the coordinates of where our buddy hid their boats. The way you say the coordinates where you want to go is that you go along the corridor first then up the stairs.
What is the coordinate of the grid below?
Here is my grid. I was buddies with Chloe.

How to Turn Your Brightness up
This Term a new workshop has started, it's called 'Koka Pip's Tech group'. I am one of the lucky kids that got chosen to be in the group. Our main focus is to try and help the elderly learn how to use their device and and stay safe online.
Here are our activity slides.
Here is a poster we made for them.
On the first slide of the Activities there was a quote, that quote told us that the elderly will probably forget about the posters because it will just be all boring words. So Koka Pip told us to make a video on how to do something simple on your device. I was buddy's with Hana and here is our Video we made using Powtoon.

FOOOOD
Each week our collaborative classes split up after lunch on a Tuesday and Wednesday. One of the classes does fitness and the other class does either Chapter Chat or Priorities. Our class (Moana Rua) does fitness on Tuesday and Chapter Chat or Priorities on Wednesday. Last week we were learning about the best foods to eat. We had to make a presentation on the food that we chose. I was partners with Kyra and we chose to do the food CHILLI PEPPERS!

Top Cat's Equivalent Fractions
In Maths Stage 6, this and last term we have been focusing on learning about fractions. Our focus last week was Equivalent Fractions (different fractions that mean the same).
This HERE is an activity we had to do.
In this activity we had to colour in a box that is equivalent to the one that is inline with that collum in the bottom row. I found this activity easy because I love fractions and hard because I couldn't tell which number was which because of the font.

TRANSFORMATION and TESSELLATIONS
For the past few weeks in EL4 Strand we have been learning about Transformation (Rotate, Translate, and Reflect). After we learnt about Transformations we then extended it into Tessellations (locking shapes together to create a picture with NO gaps, and NOT overlapping). I found the rotation and the coloring in hard. What helped me to make it easier was to do everything in pencil and then draw over it in pen.
Here is my TRANSFORMATION artwork.
Here is a Slide Show about Tessellations.
